Samples for SP-404 MKII
Loops and chops that load onto the box in your hands, composed to be played on it.
I play on my own SP-404 every week, so this is the box I check things on first.
What you get
- Plain 44.1kHz WAV files, with BPM and key in every file name.
- A plain license: use them in released beats, royalty-free.
- Previews you can hear before you buy, so you are not filling pads blind.
Folders laid out for the SP-404 MKII's import, bank by bank, are coming soon.
Quick answers
- How do I get samples onto the SP-404 MKII?
- Copy the WAV files to the SD card, or bring them in with Roland's SP-404MKII app, then assign them to pads. Nothing special is needed for our files: they are ordinary WAVs.
- Why does it say "Unsupported File"?
- Almost always the format: 32-bit float audio or an odd sample rate. Ours are 44.1kHz WAV, and in our own tests the MKII imported both 44.1kHz and 48kHz WAVs without complaint.
- How do I pick a pack for it?
- Check that BPM and key are in the file names, the license is plain, and you can hear a preview. Those are the three things we make sure of for every pack.
